On my last blog post I discussed that I wanted to create a
pocket for my jacket, this week I have done this and it has been enjoyable to
learn this skill. Understandably it is very basic but I do feel I have
managed well, however, if I were to do this again I would certainly do it
differently. The flap that hangs over
the pocket curls up and the size of the pocket is very small meaning limited
space to actually put much in there. I would also like to have been a bit more
adventurous with it but other than this I will take the experience and
hopefully have the chance to do this again.
As I had finished the jacket I was photographing it and felt there was something missing so I decided I would put a simple chain or some more wire on there. I have gone for the chain as when I designed it, it really complimented all the other aspects and brought it all together. Below are images of the design process and the collar finished.
Throughout this live brief I have challenged myself and tried to come completely out of my comfort zone. I have enjoyed it but it has been very hard and frustrating at times as well, if I were to do it again I would certainly do some things different. I would reconsider using wire, as it was difficult to manipulate into the shape I wanted it to be in and it was also very time consuming. Overall it has been a massive learning curve for me.
